I usually say I need a girl who's okay with Jesus, tattoos and anime. Everything else is just details.

I'm a jack of all trades and very self-sufficient. Always been on my own. I don't need anything, so I'm willing to wait for exactly what I want.

I am an engineer by trade, specifically computer and electronics, so I've always been attracted to intelligence. I've been described as a "Renaissance man" due to my wide-ranging interests and skills, from crochet to car mechanics. I just like having skills, because it makes me independent and better able to help others.

I don't drink, I don't smoke, no drugs. I won't date a smoker, full stop. I don't play video games, but I can enjoy watching. Just didn't grow up with 'em so I never cared that much.

Politically left-leaning, some of my favorite concepts are equal rights, election integrity and breaking income inequality. My formative years were spent in the church and I have seen enough that I do not doubt God, but the American church has lost its flavor for me, especially in the last five years. I've never been a proselytizer, I just expect people to be decent to each other no matter what their beliefs.

I enjoy reading, mostly European classics but I'm picking up a few modern series as well. Near-encyclopedic knowledge of Dune and Lord of the Rings.
I live in the country, having recently moved back to the family farm. I built a shop and moved my business back so I could be closer to family, and so I could help the economy of the small town I grew up in.

I'm a fan of renewable energy sources, and one of my ongoing projects is restoring a 1963 Chevy Impala and rebuilding for an electric drivetrain. I don't have the resources to do as much as I would like, but I have interests in solar and wind power, solar desalination, methanol fuels from biomass...
Stubbornness runs deep in both sides of my family. I inherited a temper from both sides as well but I can't stomach violence. I generally assume people are being honest so I'm probably fairly easy to manipulate. I do not forgive manipulators.

I like being right, but I can also be swayed by rational argument. I like having informed opinions, and am comfortable with changing those opinions as I learn more about the subject. Truth matters more than pride. I'd rather receive honesty than kindness, if I can't have both.

I don't exercise regularly, but not because of any fundamental opposition. It's just boring. I'd rather work than work out. I have enjoyed workouts with friends in the past because then it becomes a mobile conversation, so I'm not opposed to that. I broke my leg on some icy stairs last winter which laid me up for a while and honestly were I in better shape the leg would deal better in the long run. So if that's your thing I'll try to keep up.

I know myself fairly well, but I **** at self-promotion. To be completely honest, I am most comfortable when invisible. I like to let my work speak for me. I'm quite shy by nature, don't really like crowds, generally hate cities. That's one of the reasons I'm not often photographed, so sorry but there really aren't any better pictures to post.

I have a full color sleeve of imagery from anime series and films from the last 20 years or so that have helped shape my attitude: integrity, respect, humor, and effort. I have most of a blackwork sleeve consisting largely of inspirational quotes, lyrics and scripture, everything from Philippians to JFK. Got stuff on both legs and more is planned over the next several years. One of my friends is learning tattooing so I'll probably have a few more practice pieces before it's all over. I have a few piercings but you probably won't get to see them, and I might not keep them. Just testing the waters. I have always been attracted to girls with ink, just haven't met that many in a while.

I'm not here to ********, to bang one out and move on. I want to find something real or nothing at all. I've never kissed on the first date.
